It is a great way to watch tv it is right on with what is on. The only thing I found so far is when streaming the stream itself will jitter and lag and the sound will stutter and it wont fix u can pause it or restart it will still do it.
Its only happened once so hopefully it wont happen again other then that I really like it. The buffer has just gotten worse. There are certain channels that just don't work during certain times or if u watch to long the app itself messes up and starts freezing and loading and reloading and some times it puts you on a video instead of the tv show you were watching. Its getting really old really fast not sure how much I like this as time goes on its just getting worse. I initially gave Sling tv just two stars about two-three months ago, and skewered it in my review because I could not get it to reliably work while watching ESPN. But I committed to three months (got a free Roku with three month commitment) and stuck with the service. Since that initial review, it has dramatically improved.
Sling was so good going into New Years Eve, that I had people over to watch the NCAA playoff football games. So the pressure was on, right? And it worked perfectly. Well, there were just a couple moments, like twice, when the quality dropped for about 5-10 seconds, but then it was back to HD. Or at least it looked like HD. So, that means I am keeping it.
Sling TV is an excellent antidote to expensive and bloated cable. I just cut the cord and now use an antenna, which I tied into my cable box to route digital video to all tvs, and sling tv.
Cut my $153/month cable bill, now just use sling and save almost $100/month. I especially like the ability on some channels to go back in time.
Has all the channels that I mostly tend to watch. Only complaint I have is that it doesn't have a real 'guide' that displays all the channels in a grid format. The tabs available are sufficient but I miss have a grid type format like you find on many cable providers. Mac Os X Version 10.10 Download. Have been using sling on a daily basis now for over a month and have never had a problem, obviously though this will be largely dependent on your internet provider. Everything is great except that this interface needs work (it is pretty hard to navigate, would like to see something more like a traditional TV guide), and some DVR features would be great, even if it meant I would have to pay a couple bucks extra.
[UPDATE: Sling has now added some DVR Features, and they are great! Updating my rating to five stars, but still would like to see something more like a TV guide] [ SECOND UPDATE: Sling has added an option for a much better guide! Really glad now!] More.
